Hello to our Gardens at Columbine family and friends,
We're incredibly excited to share some uplifting news with all of you. We've recently set up an Eldergrow Garden right here in our community! For those who are not familiar, Eldergrow offers more than a simple gardening experience; it's a therapeutic horticulture program that adds a whole new layer to our caregiving approach.
Gardening Classes for Residents
What makes our Eldergrow Garden special isn't just the array of colorful flowers and aromatic herbs. It's the inclusive experience it provides for all our residents, irrespective of their care needs. Led by trained Eldergrow Educators, our bi-monthly classes are accessible and tailored for both our memory and assisted living residents.
Safety and Sustainability
Our indoor Eldergrow Garden uses organic, pesticide-free soil and non-toxic plants. The garden is mobile, so we can move it to different spaces within the community.
What the Program Includes
The Eldergrow program includes:
- Social Opportunities: The garden has become a hub of interaction, allowing residents to engage with each other in a meaningful way.
- Educational Programs: From history to science and culinary arts, we've broadened the scope of learning for our residents.
- Cultural Enrichment: Residents explore different cultures through themed gardening activities.
Accessible All Year Round
Our indoor Eldergrow Garden ensures that residents can enjoy the benefits of connecting with nature throughout the year, overcoming the limitations posed by weather or mobility challenges.
Join Us in Our Garden Journey
Residents and families are welcome to join us in the garden. No gardening experience is needed.
We look forward to sharing this enriching experience with all of you.
Best regards, Peter
